‘Le Jardin des Voix’ boost in Spain the great voices of the future
The international tour of ‘Le Jardin des Voix’ in its eighth edition, the project with young singers of William Christie and Les Arts Florissants, has conquered spectators and critics after the two recent spanish concerts, performed in Madrid (Auditorio Nacional de Música) and Zaragoza (Auditorio).
Natalie Perez (soprano), Natasha Schnur (soprano), Eva Zaïcik (mezzo-soprano), James Way (tenor), Josep-Ramon Olivé (baritone) and Padraic Rowan (bass-baritone) have shared the stage with the musicians of the ensemble, conducted by William Christie, in a programme titled ‘An English Garden’ that has included compositions by Gibbons, Dowland, Lawes, Purcell, Boyce, Arne or Händel.
The audience has been able to meet six great voices of the future, singers selected from more than 100 global applicants to the eighth edition of ‘Le Jardin des Voix’, a biennial activity created in 2002 for young people who are starting their careers and who has discovered 50 new talents from 16 countries.
Christie and Les Arts Florissants will return to Spain in 2018 with one of the jewels of the baroque music in concert version: the opera ‘Ariodante’ by Händel. They will be on March 14 at Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona) and on the 18th at Teatro Real (Madrid).
