Les Arts Florissants will perform ‘Ariodante’ in Spain
William Christie and Les Arts Florissants will come to Spain in March 2018 to present a concert version of the opera ‘Ariodante’ by Händel, a baroque jewel and whose theatrical version they have performed recently for the first time at Wiener Staatsoper.
After their concert at Philharmonie de Paris, the spanish tour will include three performances: 14th at Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona), 16th at Baluarte (Pamplona) and 18th at Teatro Real (Madrid). Christophe Dumaux, Kate Lindsey, Chen Reiss, Wilhelm Schwinghammer, Rainer Trost, Hila Fahima and Anthony Gregory will be the soloists.
This tour will mean the premiere of William Christie and Les Arts Florissants at Liceu, the return to Baluarte after performing there ‘Les Paladins’ by Rameau in 2005 and also a new visit to Teatro Real after conducting, accompanied by Pier Luigi Pizzi, Monteverdi’s trilogy between 2008 and 2010.
