Julia Lezhneva will perform in Madrid on 26, 27 and 28 January


The young russian soprano Julia Lezhneva, one of the most talented of her generation, returns to Spain in January 2018 to perform three concerts at the National Music Auditorium in Madrid on 26, 27 and 28 with the Spanish National Orchestra (ONE), conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali. These performances are presented in the ‘OCNE Symphonic Cycle’ and entitled ‘From Russia with the voice’. The repertoire includes pieces by Vivaldi, Händel, Mozart and Sibelius.

Lezhneva will return to the same stage where she achieved a great success in February 2017 accompanied by La Voce Strumentale and Dmitry Sinkovsky. Also, she amazed last year with her debut at Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona) performing Mozart’s opera ‘Don Giovanni’ and impressed the audience at Castell de Peralada Festival, where Lezhneva made her first recital.

She has become one of the main highlights of the decade in classical music, owner of a voice that shows an “angelic beauty” (The New York Times) and brings an “unforgettable spiritual expression and perfect artistry” (The Guardian). Lezhneva has released her last album ‘Graun: Opera Arias’ (Decca Classics) on April 2017.

Yuja Wang returns to Spain in January 2018 to perform five concerts accompanied by Chamber Orchestra of Europe: Kursaal in San Sebastián (15), Sociedad Filarmónica de Bilbao (16), Baluarte in Pamplona (17), Auditorio in Zaragoza (18) and L’Auditori in Barcelona (20).

Considered one of the great world artists of the last decade, she will show a repertoire with pieces by Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Chopin with the prestigious chamber orchestra composed of musicians from all over Europe. She will arrive to Spain after starting this tour in Italy (Ferrara, Reggio Emilia).

Recognized as one of the most famous pianists worldwide, Yuja Wang caused a great sensation last year in Spain due to her performance in L’Oceanogràfic Valencia surrounded by jellyfish. ‘Le Jardin des Voix’ boost in Spain the great voices of the future

The international tour of ‘Le Jardin des Voix’ in its eighth edition, the project with young singers of William Christie and Les Arts Florissants, has conquered spectators and critics after the two recent spanish concerts, performed in Madrid (Auditorio Nacional de Música) and Zaragoza (Auditorio).

Natalie Perez (soprano), Natasha Schnur (soprano), Eva Zaïcik (mezzo-soprano), James Way (tenor), Josep-Ramon Olivé (baritone) and Padraic Rowan (bass-baritone) have shared the stage with the musicians of the ensemble, conducted by William Christie, in a programme titled ‘An English Garden’ that has included compositions by Gibbons, Dowland, Lawes, Purcell, Boyce, Arne or Händel.

The audience has been able to meet six great voices of the future, singers selected from more than 100 global applicants to the eighth edition of ‘Le Jardin des Voix’, a biennial activity created in 2002 for young people who are starting their careers and who has discovered 50 new talents from 16 countries.

Christie and Les Arts Florissants will return to Spain in 2018 with one of the jewels of the baroque music in concert version: the opera ‘Ariodante’ by Händel. They will be on March 14 at Gran Teatre del Liceu (Barcelona) and on the 18th at Teatro Real (Madrid).

Considered the best countertenor worldwide, Philippe Jaroussky has achieved a great success during the recent concerts in Spain to perform the repertoire of his new album ‘The Händel Album’ (Erato-Warner Classics).

 He has performed three performances in Baluarte (Pamplona), Palau de la Música (Valencia) and Kursaal Auditorium (San Sebastián) to present accompanied by Ensemble Artaserse his first recording entirely dedicated to the german-british composer, composed of his less well know and staged opera arias.

 Jaroussky will come back to Spain in 2018 with Gluck’s ‘Orfeo’ at Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona) and will star one of the most important events next year: the opera ‘Only the sound remains’, composed by Kaija Saariaho and Peter Sellars as stage director, at Teatro Real (Madrid).
